This year has definitely had its share of ups and downs. People have come and gone in my life. I left my old job that represented stability. I also took a big pay cut and then a head first dive into being an entrepreneur. There was so many unknowns and doubts about whether or not I could do this. Yet here we are. I’m still alive. The world hasn’t come to an end. My life is now a much more simple one. It’s amazing how so much can change within such a short period of time.
The person I was at the beginning of the year is no where near the one standing today. Every day is now an opportunity for me to self improve.
1. Stop Talking, Start Doing
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve talked to so and so about doing this or that. Whelp, I’m not talking about it anymore. Either I’m going to make the time to do it or I’m not. The end.
Consistency is the key to progression. It does me no good to go to the gym, lift an absurd amount of weights, so I can wake up the next day so sore that I never want to go back. Don’t set yourself up to be burned out. Remember, doing a little is better than nothing. As long as you are consistent with what you do, over time you develop results.
3. Put Yourself Out There
The only difference between a winner and a loser is a winner plays until he wins. Winners focus on winning. Losers focus on winners. You never know until you try. Don’t let fear of failure stop you from even trying. Even if you don’t succeed, the lessons learned will be something that you can carry on with you for the rest of your life. You only lose when you decide to give up. So keep going no matter what. Good things don’t go unnoticed. If you keep on doing what you’re doing, eventually someone will take notice of your hard work.
4. Be Grateful
Stop focusing on the negatives. Start focusing on the positives.
Stop focusing on everybody else and what they’re doing. Start focusing on you.
Stop thinking about what you don’t have. Be grateful for what you do have.
You have to view it like you’ve already won. You know how easy it is for me to focus on other places that do what I do and say how I wish I was as successful as them? No, I’m already doing what I want to do right now! I already feel like I’m the best. I don’t need a big building to reaffirm what I already believe. I’m where I want to be. I’ve already made it.
